I want to show you this cute, cute card Kassidy made. Kassidy is my 13-year-old granddaughter. I think she did a great job on this one. She was inspired by The Frugal Crafter, Lindsay Weirich and followed along to make her card. I’ll put the link at the bottom. Many thanks to Lindsay for her upbeat videos.
Kassidy cut a piece of 110# Neenah Solar White cardstock, so when she folded it she had a 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 inch card base. Here’s what Kassidy did to the rest of the card:
The 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″ bottom panel was stamped with a Hero Arts Leaf and Floral Background stamp using a Faber Castell Chocolate Gelato (this makes me want chocolate pudding!). A Pistachio Gelato was then scribbled on the images and blended with a baby wipe. Next a Lemon Chiffon Gelato was scribbled on top of it and blended with a baby wipe to lighten up the panel. The Chocolate Gelato was used to darken the edges.
The second panel was cut to 4¾” X 3½” on white 65# cardstock. Using a VersaMark ink pad a Serendipity Marble Cells background was stamped, then sprinkled with Recollections Snow Embossing Powder. The excess powder was shaken off and set with a heat gun. This made a resist on the panel.
•Faber Castell Gelato in Pistachio was scribbled over the panel along with a Tangerine Gelato and a little Chocolate.
•A baby wipe was used to blend the colors, getting as much color as possible from the white resist.
•The Pictachio Gelato was used to darken the edges, wiped with a dry cloth and then set aside to dry.The top panel was stamped with a bird on a branch from Wplus9 using an Archival Coffee Ink Pad, then colored with Copic Markers. A black gel pen was used for the eye.
The background was colored with colored with a Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad in Tumbled Glass. The flowers were stamped in 3 layers using dye ink on Hero Arts Hibiscus Stamps.
The card layers and flowers were adhered with Scrapbook Adhesive E-Z Runner Tape.
Kassidy decided to hold off on a sentiment until she knows the recipient of this card. This was her first complex card to make. She saw that it took a long time to complete the process. Way to go, Kass!
