Ink Blended and Stenciled

Hello Friend,

I love this stamp set from Newton’s Nook Designs called Summer Scoops.  The background was so enjoyable to make and of course it was fun coloring the ice creams and Popsicle.  The Dotted Swiss bar just added to the dotty fun.  Take a look…

Here’s how I made it in a nutshell:

Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads in mustard seed/squeezed lemonade, spun sugar, picked raspberries and ripe persimmons to watercolor on 4″X5 1/4″ watercolor paper. Heat set

-overlaid the background with white pigment ink using Simon Says Stamps Extra Large Dots Stencil and Simon Says Stamp Medium Dots Stencil

-stamped Newton’s Nook Design Summer Scoops on watercolor paper with a VersaMark Embossing Ink  Pad and embossed with Recollections Ebony Embossing Powder and a Heat Gun

-used the same distress ink colors, plus broken china, antique linen and a chocolate brown pigment ink to color ice cream treats. These were dried, cut out with EK Success Scissors and coated with Glossy Accents

-used Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runner Tape to adhere water colored card front to a black 4  1/4″ X 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock

-used E-Z Runner Tape to adhere the card front to Neenah Solar White Cardstock that made a 4 /14″ X 5 1/2″ card when folded

-took a strip of Neenah Solar White Cardstock and embossed the sentiment on it by stamping it with a VersaMark Embossing Ink  Pad and embossing with Recollections Ebony Embossing Powder and a Heat Gun

-used my Texture Boutique to emboss the strip with a Sizzix Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

used Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Black Pen in BOLD to edge the sides of the strip

adhered strip with Ranger Matt Medium to White Fun Foam cut just a tiny bit smaller than the strip and attached this to the card front

– attached frozen treats with small and medium Zots Adhesive Dots

used Ranger’s Magenta Stickles to accent heart and sprinkles

-adhered Simon Says Stamp Crystal Reflections Sequins with Ranger Matt Medium

So this post was shorter than most of my others, don’t you agree?  Always working to try to improve.  I posted my first Instagram picture yesterday, well, actually today because it was in the middle of the night.  I will link the photo I posted below.  If you liked this post, please press the LIKE button at the bottom of the page.  A comment would be lovely.  You will find LEAVE A COMMENT at the top of the page until the page title.  Thanks a lot for stopping by.  You are always welcome.

Happiness to you,
