Strawberry Jude Stamps Design Team

Hello Crafters,

I am behind on my blogging since I became a member of Strawberry Jude Stamps Design Team in September 2016.  At the same time, Kassidy became a Junior Design Team member.  Her job is to make planner spreads for Strawberry Jude’s planner stamps.  To see all the planner stamps Strawberry Jude Stamps has to offer, see the link below.  With school, competitive cheerleading, band and other activities, Kassidy doesn’t have a lot of extra time.  But she DID find the time to make this cute card using Strawberry Jude’s reindeer head stamp from the set called Note It: Letter to Santa.  The link is listed below.

This is a top folding A2 card.  The card base is 110# Neenah Solar White Cardstock, 11 x 4.25 inches, folded in half.

Kassidy started off with a 5.5 x 4.25 inch panel of 110# Neenah Solar White Cardstock .  Later the sides were trimmed off, as seen here, before gluing the card front onto the card base.

On the watercolor paper, Kassidy used an art spatula to spread on Cosmic Shimmer Apple Red Sparkle Texture Paste on top of a Tim Holtz Holiday Knit Stencil.  This was set aside to dry and looked so sparkly, festive and beautiful.  She did a better job than I can do at spreading the paste on the stencil and getting good results.

The MISTI stamping tool was used to stamp the reindeer onto Bristol cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  Kassidy used Zig Real Brush Markers to color it.  She then fussy cut it using EK Success Cutter Bee Scissors.  To cover the white edge around the reindeer, she went around it with a Memento Tuxedo Black Marker.

For the sentiment and holly, Kassidy used the same ink and the MISTI to stamp them.  These stamps are from the Strawberry Jude Stamps Tag It: Christmas linked below.

That’s it – Simple techniques, bright, Christmassy and festive!  Due to the bulk of the glitter paste, the images were glued to the front of the card with Ranger Multi Medium Matte Glue.  A stamp runner would not work too well on top of this surface.  A large acrylic block was laid on top of the glued-on pieces so they would adhere well.

If you have any questions, just ask away!  What do you think of Kasssidy’s card?  She was 13 years old when she made this card.  Her 14th birthday was in November.   As you can tell, I am very proud of my beloved granddaughter.  🙂
