Pumpkin Time

Pumpkin time, pumpkin time, I love pumpkin time!  I love to look at pumpkins.  I love pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins and pumpkin cake.  And don’t ever forget pumpkin pie!  Give me a pumpkin spice latte and I’m good to go.  I love smelling pumpkin spice candles.  I delight in pumpkin and autumn decorations.  Pumpkins made into happy jack-o-lanterns make me happy.  So there’s not many things more enjoyable than making a pumpkin card.

One thing I like about this 4.5 inch square card is that it is an all-occasion card.  It can be used to write a note, send a get well wish, encourage someone or given as a birthday card to someone who was born in the autumn.

The rich Lawn Fawn paper in the background is so attractive.  I embossed the pumpkin first and heated the gold powder with a heat gun.  Then I colored the pumpkin and leaves with distress inks using a finger dauber.  Trying to brighten things up, I also used distress oxide inks.  The use of both kinds of ink gave the pumpkin a velvety look.  The background behind the pumpkin was water colored using the distress ink, Broken China.  To handle the water I used watercolor paper.

A simple card to make, yet such beautiful results.  Be inspired to make a pumpkin card with the rich fall colors of the season.
