New Year 2018

Hello Crafty Friends!

Wow, it’s been a long time!  I’ve been busy, busy, busy!  I was making Christmas cards right up until Christmas, and then I changed it up to Happy New Year cards.  There were still three contacts I didn’t make that I wanted to make.  I think I’ll send them a New Year’s hello.  Our best friends were here from Florida the week between Christmas and New Year’s.  We always enjoy their visit.  I did manage to make one New Year’s card while they were here.  I put New Year’s greetings on the inside of the card.  I like the way it turned out, especially with the stenciled snow on the gray cardstock using Arleene’s Glitter Snow (paste).

Kassidy has me into Etsy planner sticker kits now, big time.  I just didn’t think I would go there.  I bought a lot of planner stamps when I first started deco planning, thinking I would save money in the long run.  In fact, I now enjoy using both stickers and stamping.  At first, the sticker kits were tedious for me to use, trying to get everything straight.  But now I have the hang of it.  Not too many Etsy shops have stickers for Big Happy Planners.  There are more now, though, than when I first started buying from Etsy.  I’m excited to show you the first monthly sticker kit I have purchased.  In my 2017 planner, my  monthly spreads were chicken scratch.  I love this one!

My new planner is a MAMBI (Me & My Big Ideas) 12-month Big Happy Planner.  I got it at Michael’s with a half-off coupon.  I love it!  It is neutral inside, meaning the pages are not colored, so I don’t have to coordinate the colors I use with the color of the planner pages. The covers are 9″ x 11.25″ and the pages are 8.5″ x 11″.  I use my planner as a memory keeper.  Every day I scratch out what I did during the day on a small planner page and then write it again nicely in my big planner.  Sometimes I write or type out a memoir on a separate sheet of paper, then stamp on it and color the images.  A sheet of computer paper fits perfectly in my planner.  I use the Happy Planner BIG Punch, then the page is a keeper.

So this is something new I’ve started for the new year.  I already have my February monthly kit  and a Valentine’s Day weekly kit ordered.  Ha!  Kassidy just texted me that she ordered a Valentine’s Day weekly kit.  There goes the money.

Until next time,
