Hello,
I made a valentine for a friend who goes back to seventh grade. I wanted it to be similar to a child’s valentine, in that it doesn’t open and fold. It turned out pretty cute.
CARD BASE – 110# Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock cut to 3-1/2 x 4-7/8 inches. Do not fold.
CARD FRONT
- 140# Strathmore Watercolor Paper cut to 3-1/2 x 4-7/8 inches
- kitty – Penny Black Every Which Way Stamp Set
- Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad
- Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers – gray, pink, red, green (flower stem)
- water and a small brush
After the kitty stamp is colored, wet the rest of the paper with a brush and water (avoiding the kitty). Scribble Zig markers on a craft sheet (yellow, blue, pink). Spray the color just a little with water. Paint the colors on the paper horizontally, overlapping the colors. Let this dry, then stamp the rest.
- postmark – Stampin’ Up! discontinued valentine stamp set
- Gina K Red Hot Ink Pad
- sentiment – unidentified valentine stamp set purchased at Michael’s
- Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad – Stamp Happy Valentine’s.
- Stampendous Clear Embossing Powder – Heat emboss Happy Valentine’s.
- Versamark Clear Embossing Ink Pad – Stamp XO.
- Recollections Glacier Embossing Powder – Heat emboss XO.
- row of hearts – Stampin’ Up! discontinued valentine stamp set
- Gina K Red Hot Ink Pad
- border of dashes – Pilot Precise V5 RT Black Pen
- ruler
Tear around the edges of the front panel. Go over the edges with the pink Zig marker. Adhere the card front to the card base a strong adhesive. I used 3/4 inch eBoot Double Sided Adhesive (amazon.com).
EMBELLISH
Go over the large heart with a Clear Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen. Let this dry a few minutes. Apply Christmas Red Stickles to the small hearts. Apply Glossy Accents to the big heart. Dry completely.
A simple card, but quite a few steps when you lay it all out. Let this inspire you to make a valentine for someone you value.
Sincerely,
Tricia Ann
