Woot, woot! I’m a wandering child come home – maybe not for long. I’ve been enjoying do work in my planner, using stickers from Etsy shops,. This is a hobby I have with my 15-year-old granddaughter. It’s something we have in common for now. However, I HAD to come up with a card for our friend who has a birthday on the fourth of July. I always enjoying sending him a card for his special birthday.
I found it necessary to take the easy way out when making this card. As lazy as I was, I used a card base that I already had made. It was a base made with 100# Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock. The top 2/3 of the card was embossed with a vertical embossing folder on 80# Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock. I don’t remember the name of the folder. I used Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runner Tape to attach it to the white card base. The bottom 1/3 of the card used the same white cardstock. It was not embossed. Strips of red cardstock were adhered to it vertically. A strip of yellow cardstock was adhered horizontally to the top of the red strips. Now here is the trick that made it so easy. Since I already had the card base, all I did was use a sticker from Create 365 Happy Memory Keeping Me & My BIG Ideas: Holidays.
On the inside of the card, I used clear vinyl stickers from the same folder. Three balloons were used – red, blue, yellow and a few sparkles. The sentiment stickers said, “It’s your special day. Celebrate!” I’m sorry I didn’t take a picture of the inside of the card. I wish I had. It turned out so cute.
Thanks for stopping to have a look. I’m really hoping to get my mojo back for making cards. Since I’m doing decorative planning, it’s hard to find time to make cards, too. Right now, I need to come up with a birthday card and an important anniversary card. On to the craft table!
