Hey there,
I have another card for you today. I was inspired to make this card when I was hopping along on Simon Says Stamp Diecember Blog Hop. Thanks to Debby at Lime Doodle Design for the idea. To see Debby’s card and get inspired yourself, go to http://limedoodledesign.com/2017/12/rejoice-simon-says-stamp-diecember-blog-hop/ . I couldn’t get my watercolor to spread like Debby did. I definitely need more practice. Here’s the modified version that I created.
Card Base – 110# Neenah Crest Solar White Cardstock, cut to 8.5 x 5.5 inches and folded in half to make an A2 size top-folding card
Silver Background – Recollections 12 x 12 inches Silver Cardstock, single sheet
Card Front – Ranger Watercolor Paper
white fun foam – Cut this the same size as the watercolor paper, and adhere it to the back of the watercolor paper.
Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Dies
Gold Watercolor – Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi Set
Rejoice – Inkadinkadoo Spiritual Sketches Stamp Set
VersaMark Sticky Clear Embossing Ink Pad
Recollections Metallic Silver Embossing Powder
DCWV The Cardstock Stack, Glitzy Glitter, 6 x 6 inch pad
blue snowflake – Simon Says Stamp Eliza Die
green snowflake – Simon Says Stamp Kate Die – I couldn’t get this snowflake die cut out of the Glitzy Glitter Cardstock, so I wasted 4 pieces trying. I finally had to die cut it out of a piece of mint colored cardstock from my stash. I then heat embossed the snowflake with Recollections Vintage Mint Embossing Powder.
pink snowflake – Simon Says Stamp Ashlynn Die
Simon Says Stamp Colorful Confetti
Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runner Tape – Adhere all layers.
Ranger Multi Matte Medium Glue – Adhere snowflakes and confetti. Note: Using a small paintbrush makes it easier to apply the glue to the snowflakes.
This card would have been quick and easy had I not had trouble cutting out the snowflakes. Therefore, I ordered TODAY new cutting plates for the Provo Craft Cuttlebug Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. I’m going to make this card again and see if it goes quicker. Also, I want to see if I can get my watercolor to spread out more. I think I should have wet my paper more before adding the color.
Happy crafting,
Tricia Ann
